All My Sons by Aurthur Miller
All My Sons' is a play by Arthur Miller. Setting of the play is time of second world war.
Plot of the play moves around wealthy Keller family. Joe Keller, a businessman, lives with his wife, Kate, and son, Chris, in America. Their other son Larry was missing who has taken part in World War II. Three years had passed and everybody was sure of his death except his mother who is very superstitious. Chris tries to explain to give up that hope because he wants to marry Ann, Larry's former fiancée.
Now Ann arrives to Keller family. Ann's father Steeve Server was in prison for a crime he committed while working in Joe's factory. They sent defective air plane parts even if they knew of faults. It caused the death of 21 pilots during the war including Larry. Case happens and Joe also was convicted, but he set free and Steve went to prison. Joe had no regret and after returning home, makes his business bigger and better.
Now Anne's brother George arrives from visiting his father in prison. He was against marriage of Chris and Anne. Joe and Kate do their best to charm George into submission because they both know that George might know everything and can reopen the case. Ann sends him away.
Kate goes frustrated because marriage of Chris and Ann was going to be reality and if it happen then it means Larry is dead. She don't want to accept it. Because it means his own father killed him. Ann shows a letter from Larry who proves that he is dead. Chris finally comes to know his father's guilt. But he won't do anything about it. He won't even ask his father to go to prison.
In the end Joe Keller realises his guilt and thinks that not only Larry was his son but all who died because of him were his sons. He goes inside to get his things. A gunshot is heard. Joe Keller had committed suicide.
